Track Referrals in CrowdSync

March 07, 2018

Sometimes, it’s nice to know how people are getting into your workflows, when you share a public link to them. If you’re sharing that link on social media, through email, or other places, it’s nice to know which channel is working and which isn’t.

Luckily, you can now track this directly in CrowdSync in a super flexible way!

We call these tracking strings, and here’s how to use them.

Add Tracking Strings to Your Public URL

First, find the public link to your workflow, by navigating to the “Settings” area inside your workflow. If your workflow’s visibility is set to “Private”, simply toggle the switch to “Public”, and you’ll see the link:

Next, when you share this link out, you can add tracking strings to it in order to track whatever you want. To do this, you’ll be adding query strings to your URL.

Here’s how that works.

When you share your URL, to the end of it, add a ?, then what you want to track in this format: source=facebook. Note that both the word “source” and “facebook” can be whatever you want, this is just an example.

So, if your URL is, you’d simply add ?source=facebook to the end of it, so the full URL you share is

You can even track multiple things if you want, by simply separating them with &:

You can add as many of these as you want! Just ensure that you add the ? after the URL, then add those tracking strings separated by &.

Now, whenever anyone enters your workflow from this URL, this information will be displayed on their profile inside of CrowdSync:

It’s that easy! This will help you keep track of where people are coming from, or any other information you want.
